We aim to prepare our pupils as well as we can for their next steps- moving onto secondary school.
We are a feeder school to The Elizabethan Academy in Retford. We work very closely with them and this supports our pupils in a range of ways:
Visits to the academy to attend sporting events throughout the academic year.
Staff communicating closely to ensure a smooth handover when your child moves into Year 7.
Year 6 transition week in July to prepare pupils for moving into Year 7.
Specialist teacher visits to work with our pupils- such as Expressive Arts workshops, Languages teaching.
Visits from the Principal, Mrs Horrocks and Dylan the dog.
Strong links with the SENCO who meets regularly with our school SENCO.

A few of our pupils select to go on to the Queen Elizabeth's High School at Gainsborough in Year 7 and so we ensure there is a good handover from staff to enable a successful transition. We also visit QEHS to attend events throughout the year, such as their STEM fair.
